To mark the the 30th anniversary of the opening of Australian Parliament House, the Department of Parliamentary Services wanted to create a brand identity to be used on a variety of promotional products throughout the year.
The logo combines the distinctive flag mast of the building with the number 30, while white space symbolises the converging avenues that form the apex of the Parliamentary Triangle which connects the building to the city and the landscape.
When applied across different products, the angles created by the logo form quadrants that continue the avenues across the layout. The result was a bold yet sympathetic design that was flexible enough to adapt to a wide range of uses, including brochures, packaging and signage. The brand identity was also applied to the marketing collateral for the biennial Parliament House Open Day.
